Clinical Supervisor

Paris Johnson

LCSW, LPC

As a Clinical Supervisor, I am passionate about supporting the growth and development of emerging clinicians through collaborative, reflective, and culturally responsive supervision. My supervisory approach emphasizes ethical practice, clinical confidence, and helping therapists cultivate their own authentic therapeutic voice.

As an African American psychotherapist, my clinical work has centered on supporting individuals, couples, and families navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and identity-based stressors. I believe deeply in the importance of creating spaces that honor culture, lived experiences, and the unique ways that personal and systemic experiences shape mental health.

My work is grounded in compassion, reflection, and respect for each person's story. I strive to offer care that feels authentic, affirming, and responsive to the realities that clients bring into the therapy room.

Clinical Specialties & Areas of Interest

My clinical experience includes supporting individuals, couples, and families navigating:

  • Trauma and complex life experiences

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Systemic racism, oppression, and identity-related stress

  • Multicultural and family dynamics

  • LGBTQ+ concerns and affirming care

I am particularly passionate about culturally responsive, trauma-informed care that acknowledges the impact of identity, relationships, and systemic experiences on emotional well-being.

My Approach to Supervision

My approach to supervision is relational, reflective, and grounded in cultural humility. I strive to create a supportive environment where clinicians feel safe exploring their clinical work, developing confidence in their decision-making, and strengthening their professional identity.

I encourage curiosity, self-reflection, and thoughtful exploration of how culture, identity, and lived experiences influence the therapeutic process. My goal is to help clinicians develop strong clinical judgment, practice ethically, and build the confidence needed to provide compassionate, culturally responsive care.
