Michael Gardner
LMHC
I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, emotional overwhelm, and challenging periods of change. I support individuals in better understanding their emotions and experiences, developing healthier ways of coping, and building greater confidence and resilience in their daily lives.
I also work with families experiencing communication difficulties or disconnection, helping family members better understand one another and strengthen their relationships. My goal is to provide a supportive, affirming space where you feel heard and respected while working toward greater self-awareness, emotional balance, and meaningful change.
Who I Support
I support:
Adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, stress, and emotional overwhelm
Individuals processing trauma and difficult past experiences
Individuals experiencing depression and mood-related concerns
Adolescents and adults navigating significant changes or periods of uncertainty
Individuals seeking greater self-awareness, resilience, and personal growth
Families working to strengthen communication, connection, and understanding
Clients seeking culturally responsive and inclusive therapy
My Approach
My approach is humanistic, integrative, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship can create the foundation for meaningful change, and I tailor our work to your individual experiences, strengths, and goals.
I draw from:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify and shift thought and behavioral patterns that may contribute to anxiety, depression, and emotional distress
Narrative Therapy to explore the stories and experiences that shape how you understand yourself and create new perspectives
Mindfulness-based practices to strengthen emotional awareness, manage stress, and support present-moment connection
Trauma-informed care to support healing while prioritizing safety, connection, and resilience
Together, we'll work to better understand what's contributing to the challenges you're experiencing, strengthen coping skills, and develop practical ways to manage difficult emotions while building greater self-trust and emotional well-being.
Outside the Therapy Room
Outside of sessions, I enjoy reading, focusing on personal growth, and finding ways to recharge. I also enjoy interactive games like Jenga, card games, and cup pong. I'm interested in learning to play a musical instrument and value opportunities to relax, reflect, and reset.t.
