Amanda Brown
MHC-LP
I work with teens and adults navigating anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, and relationship challenges. I especially enjoy supporting young adults who may feel overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or unsure of how to manage the pressures and changes that come with this stage of life.
My work takes a holistic view of emotional well-being, recognizing the connection between mind, body, and personal experience. I support individuals in better understanding what they're feeling, recognizing patterns that may be contributing to distress, and developing healthier ways of coping and relating to themselves and others.
Who I Support
I support:
Young adults navigating anxiety, depression, stress, and emotional overwhelm
Teens and adults struggling with low self-esteem or confidence
Individuals experiencing relationship and interpersonal challenges
Those seeking healthier ways to manage difficult emotions and everyday stress
Individuals interested in a holistic approach to mental health and emotional well-being
BIPOC individuals seeking culturally responsive and affirming therapy
I especially enjoy working with young adults navigating anxiety and depression who want to better understand themselves, develop healthier ways of coping, and feel more balanced and confident in their daily lives.
My Approach
My approach is holistic, integrative, and collaborative. I consider the connection between mind and body while tailoring therapy to your individual experiences, needs, and goals. My aim is to provide a supportive environment where you can develop greater awareness, strengthen coping skills, and create changes that support your emotional well-being.
I draw from:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you clarify your values, develop greater psychological flexibility, and take meaningful steps forward
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify and shift thoughts and behaviors that may contribute to anxiety, depression, and emotional distress
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) strategies to support emotional regulation, mindfulness, and healthier coping
Somatic practices, including breathwork and movement, to increase awareness of the connection between physical and emotional experiences
Trauma-informed principles to promote safety, choice, and sensitivity to the impact of difficult experiences
Together, we'll work toward understanding what's contributing to how you feel, strengthening your ability to navigate difficult emotions, and developing practical tools that support greater balance, confidence, and connection in your daily life.

I earned my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Saint Bonaventure University, a Master of Science in Law and Public Policy from California University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from California University of Pennsylvania.
I practice under clinical supervision in accordance with New York State regulations. Ongoing supervision supports ethical, high-quality care and helps ensure you receive thoughtful, client-centered treatment while your privacy remains protected.
Outside the Therapy Room
Outside of sessions, I value spending time with loved ones and engaging in activities that support creativity, balance, and personal growth. I believe in the importance of intentional self-care and strive to bring that same grounded perspective into my work.
