Commitment

As an African American Associate Therapist at Love Light Mental Health Counseling Services, PLLC, I understand the importance of cultural identity and its impact on mental health. I am deeply committed to supporting my clients on their journeys toward healing, meaning, and personal empowerment.

Drawing from my background in neuroscience and psychotherapy, I provide trauma-informed, evidence-based care that is both culturally responsive and client-centered. My approach is rooted in mindfulness, existential exploration, and social justice, creating space for clients to reflect, heal, and grow. I strive to build a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, authenticity, and collaboration, empowering individuals to make informed, value-aligned choices as they move toward lasting emotional well-being.

Areas of Focus

I support individuals and families in addressing:

  • Anxiety and Stress Management – Using mindfulness and cognitive strategies to reduce overwhelm and foster emotional regulation.
  • Trauma Recovery – Providing trauma-informed care to promote healing and resilience after adverse experiences.
  • Existential Exploration – Helping clients reflect on meaning, purpose, and self-identity in a culturally conscious way.
  • Culturally Sensitive and Social Justice-Oriented Therapy – Addressing the impact of systemic inequities and cultural influences on mental health with a focus on empowerment and advocacy.

Therapeutic Approach

With a foundation in neuroscience and mindfulness, my therapeutic style is evidence-based, integrative, and tailored to each individual’s goals:

  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MB-CBT) – Promoting awareness and emotional balance through present-focused techniques.
  • Existential Therapy – Supporting clients as they examine core life questions and cultivate freedom, authenticity, and purpose.
  • Culturally Responsive Therapy – Honoring clients’ unique backgrounds and confronting social and systemic influences on mental health.
  • Trauma-Informed Care – Drawing on neuroscience insights to support both mind and body in the healing process.
  • Collaborative Goal-Setting – Empowering clients to define therapy on their own terms, guided by personal and cultural values.
